ELECTRONICS / MECHATRONICS ENGINEERS / TECHNICIANS - NZ

Our Auckland-based service team requires professional service engineers/technicians to install and maintain our leading edge technology products installed internationally.  Full training will be given to start your career in this exciting field.

We are looking for enthusiastic graduates with inquisitive minds who are keen to join a qualified team which delivers excellent customer service. FIELD SERVICE ENGINEERSAustralia based

 

Our Australian service team requires skilled service engineers/technicians to install and maintain our leading edge technology products. This role is well suited for a very organized professional, who enjoys responsibility for projects and wants to travel across Australia, while providing excellent customer service.

 

We seek candidates who:

  • Have excellent communication skills to talk through technical issues, and to train customers in using our equipment
  • Have solid electrical skills
  • Have strong fault finding and problem solving skills.
  • Are highly computer literate.
  • Are prepared to travel in Australia.
  • Have excellent grades in electronics or computer systems qualifications.
  • Can relate well to customers, and seek challenge and variety in their work.

Preferably, you will also have:

  • An interest in mechanical engineering
  • 2-3 years experience in field service or installation roles

SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS 

We are looking for people to join our Vision team (based in Onehunga) to develop real time industrial image processing applications that are deployed on multi million dollar machines around the world.  You will be contributing to a small team of highly motivated individuals working on a large code base using agile methodologies. We need positive and self motivated programmers who can work towards, and contribute to, team goals.  Compac is constantly engaged in world leading image processing research and these roles will include working with and supporting our researchers.

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Working with the Vision team developing the Invision software
  • Helping to research new leading edge vision processing techniques
  • Developing electronic designs for new embedded hardware
  • Improving the way we develop software at Compac

 

Our ideal candidate must have:

  • An academic background in Computer Science or Robotics/Electronic Engineering
  • Sound research and analytical skills
  • Software development capability in C++ for the windows platform
  • Strong communication skills – must have the ability to communicate with internal and external customers on engineering and technological concepts
  • A mathmatical background
  • User interface development and visual studio experience
  • The ability to travel nationally and internationally - approx 10% of your time

BAAN SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR 

We require a very talented person who will provide development and end user support for our BAAN ERP system. Ensuring the integrity of the BAAN database at all times is key in this role, as is evaluating the benefits of upgrading to later versions of BAAN and carrying out form and report modifications as required.

Specific tasks include:

  • Testing and implementation of new features and modules in BAAN
  • Designing and implementing solutions to allow the integration of other applications into the existing BAAN environment
  • Assessing options for extending the capabilities of BAAN using other solutions such as Business Intelligence, CRM, Supply Chain Management, Workflow, etc.
  • Preparing and modifying crystal reports and maintaining on crystal report server
  • Applying solutions and service packs as required
  • Providing support to BAAN users
  • Preparing and maintaining BAAN training documentation
  • Maintaining BAAN users and roles
  • Assisting with BAAN server maintenance

 

You will have 3-4 years experience with an ERP system, ideally BAAN, preferably in a technical support/consulting role. Your communication skills will be exceptional and you will need to be diligent and methodical with strong attention to detail.
