Compac InVision systems optically size produce by measuring multiple diameters from multiple digital images of each fruit for the best accuracy.
InVision 5000 can optically size fruit and sort for fruit shape. Unusual fruit shapes that impact diameter, such as flatness and elongation, can be separated. For Onions it is possible to detect and plot the equatorial diameter using the InVision 5000 system stem detection feature. For Mandarins, diameter sizing is used to measure volume and density to separate loose skin or "puffy" fruit.
The end result is produce that fit correctly into packaging with maximum consumer appeal.
